Out of Place — Extended Family-Friendly Group Exhibition

Out of Place is a group exhibition and public programme curated by collective.wasteland together with TENT that brings together artists who explore waste not just as a material residue, but as a powerful lens through which to view mythology, ecology, and urban life—especially in the city of Rotterdam, shaped by water, industry, and constant transformation.

The works in this exhibition uncover what is often hidden: the discarded, the overlooked, the seemingly out of place. In doing so, they invite us to reimagine these remnants as active agents in our shared environment, from playful encounters that welcome children into the hidden worlds of trash and myth, to speculative futures where rivers speak and leftover lands teem with biodiversity.
