Table Scraps #2 (Dinner Conversations on Waste and Precarity): Leftovers

In this dinner series we come together to cook and share a three-course meal made from saved food and to talk about subjects that are rarely addressed, such as intersections of waste and precarity. These two become entangled very often and form strong patterns that nevertheless remain invisible in public discourse. For each dinner we pick a different theme and invite speakers to contribute their stories and perspectives to collective conversation.

Come cook, eat, and talk with us!

This evening about food waste and alternative sharing economies brings together neighbours, cooks, and communities who reimagine how food circulates. Stijn Herpers, the coordinator of BuurtBuik, and people from other food saving and distributing initiatives will share their stories and strategies for reclaiming abundance in times defined by narratives of scarcity, and reflect on how food waste can feed dignity rather than shame.
