The practice of Maurice Meewisse (NL) is driven by a curiosity to how people comprehend or experience their surroundings and to how things and histories relate to each other. He searches for relationships or frictions and uses those as an impulse to make new work.

Over the last years there has been a shift in the focus of his work which comes from the question of what he brings with himself. This changes his role as an artist and his relationship with the audience, on one hand he shifts from a figure on a stage towards hosting and facilitating others. On the other hand it opened up the possibility to make atelier work where he attempts to be critical towards himself, his desires and dreams.
