About
Henok Getachew Woldegebreal (ET/DE) works across performance, painting, and mixed media, using found and functional materials to explore the intersections of consumerism, climate change, and technological impact. Born in Ethiopia, Henok began his studies in physics before transitioning to the Ale School of Fine Arts and Design in Addis Ababa.
His artistic approach emphasises process and material history—each object he works with is not only a medium but a carrier of memory and meaning. His works often spark critical dialogue around the ecological and ethical implications of production, waste, and innovation. Henok is also a co-founder of Netsa Art Village, a pioneering artist collective in Addis Ababa focused on experimental practices and community engagement.
